I'm not sure that it's not a bug, but IIRC, telling a pet to back off will revert it back to what it was doing before the last command was given, IE if you had it on Guard, telling it to back off after attacking should result in it going back to said Guard spot, and looking towards the nearest NPC.

This is the way I remember it, however, it shouldn't return to a sitting position.

It's been a long time though! Anyone still play a pet class on live that can test how it works now?
