No Ektar, I chose the dog analogy very carefully. No one is accusing the dog of being a malicious agent of Satan, but that doesn't mean its behaviour isn't obnoxious. I can even alter my story somewhat if it makes you feel better:

After your neighbors complained and you apologized they politely accepted your apology and thought the matter was settled. Then they found you bragging down at the nearby pub about how "your dog shits wherever it god damn pleases" (think Rounders) and the next day they did indeed find another turd on their lawn. It wasn't quite as big as the last one, but at this point they are starting to think you are just fucking with them.
