The reason this happened, as Sirken could explain to you because he was there too, is because of the soft coded teams. Since players had the option to group and guild across team lines, reputations mattered. LnS allowed the top guilds to weed out toxic players. If you didn't follow player-enforced rules, you would never get in any guild worth being in.
When teams are fully hardcoded like on Sullon Zek, there are no political options and there are no reputations across team lines. There are no consequences from being a complete douchebag to people not on your team. The server picked your friends for you, so you don't have to worry about alienating anyone with your actions.
