![]() I just wanted to tip my hats off to the devs and community on the red server. While there is some trolling and the ooc is constantly under flame, the server as whole really makes me feel like I am back playing that classic EQ again.
Last weekend me and my friend finally decided to start some characters here (Iskar Monk/Shaman). We had NO idea what we were getting ourselves into haha. While some of these probably seem obvious to most veterans on this server, they came as fun surprises to me and my friend as we learned the sever this last week. These were what really stood out to us and made it a lot fun. This includes but is not limited to... 1. Kurn Tower battle rumble! Its like potty training for Mistmoore castle trolling. We learned the value of spamming /who once in awhile and even managed to get our first PvP win by knowing a semi-twink was heading our way (This may have been after he owned us 4-5 times haha). The guy was even nice enough after the fun battle to come with his druid and pl buff us for a bit! 2. Kunark is a safe place typically - giant forts seem to be our friend. Until a wizard gets levitated and starts nuking my shaman friend and I cant reach the wizard because because I am a monk [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]. WTB levitate. 3. Apparently some guilds like to claim areas. Notably for me and my friend, Flowers in guk. What would of been a boring AC camp day turned into a nightmare battle for survival against a very bored and twinked out warrior. In the end we got our Legs/Arms that we wanted, but what a fun struggle. Also learned how lame plug pulling is [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]! Is that always going to be around? 4. There is a very angry halfing named Dunkin in Mistmoore and the only way to defeat him is with a SSD, and running for your life. During this entire encounter a friendly monk offered me a wu's trance stick that I desperately needed. What ensued? Me screaming at my friend to bait himself so I could get the trade, then we ran for our lives. Don't worry, we still got /shout shit talked as we made our escape with our tail between our legs (See that pun there!). 5. Finally - I love how the Red server makes you develop friendships with other new players. Why run around as a dou when you can have the safety of a group of 4-5 people? We already have a core group of 4 people now that play together most nights. Not to mention...I dont have to be the fastest monk, just faster then some of the other people in my group when the gankers come [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]! Thank you for the fun first week Red server! I look forward to the mayhem as I continue to level! My body is ready. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] -Oglepole 36 Monk | ||
