Intelligence is defined as the ability to learn and apply knowledge. College doesn't make you smarter, by definition - assuming that intelligent and smart are synonyms in your eyes. You could in fact make the argument that people requiring college to become educated need more time/effort to learn and so are in fact, less intelligent. I'm not arguing that though.

The smartest person in the world may very well be some 12 year old pygmy tribe member somewhere in the Amazon rainforest, we'll never know.
And for the record, I went to "trade" school for computer networking. I now work as a lead network architect, so I have about the most specific and applicable degree I could possibly have...and it was still fucking worthless.
