I don't think anybody wants to give key pixels to people who aren't fully invested or committed to a guild. I was in Nilly for 3 years and I never saw an item of non relevance rot (ie planar drops)

Actually the only one I do specifically remember is the Xygoz spear for Shaman's that poofed on Vayden, a week later he quit. Everybody runs guilds differently and in their own way, but you have to adjust to the timelime for these expansions and pick your battles.
I think the biggest difference between p99 and live, beyond pop/timeline, was that being in an end game guild was actually "elite." You had to app for an extended period of time, know your class, perform well, have a certain RA %, not be a complete douchebag, etc. There was usually a guild charter, votes on members, written rules. Being part of the guild felt like something. Here it's just, "hey u wanna join the end game guild? kool, welcum aboard croot"
