Civil competition for scarce goods will always break down when demand far exceeds supply. No one wants to wait months for their personal turn at loot, which depends on their guild's turn at a mob, and further on whether the mob will drop it.
Survival of the fittest is the way to go. The rules in place now only exist because the staff got tired of the bullshit.
Draw a line in the sand that is not to be crossed while competing (FTE, etc), and stop being baited into arguing about it in public. No modern game staff discusses their decisions in public at all. Most rarely give more than form responses in private.

survival of the fittest, huh? in context, it's more like survival of the
fattest... but you never were the brightest marble in the shed, were you? because the server will not be able to sustain itself if a single entity goes back to monopolizing all of the raid content again. it's simply an idiotic solution to drive away users rather than rationing (or even increasing) the content available to make sure at least some of them have a chance at seeing end-game.
one guild with alts parked at every raid target is not a healthy raid scene. and nobody wants to play petitionquest with class C. we might as well start referring to them as class P.
or piss for short.
