What is being done about this issue? The corpse was not fully looted in case a GM resurrection is available. I reported the matter to my guild and they instructed me to send a petition but no one has gotten in touch.

Sounds like you rolled a ranger. We are so fragile that sometimes even just a few UDP packets hitting the network adaptor too fast while logging in can kill us.
