![]() KS over FTE? The end of poopsocking? Lets take a look.
1. Ending the javelin wars. This would end the need of having 20 people online at all hours of the night during the window of a highly contested target to FTE. Batphones would still be needed, and even a tracker or 2, but organization and mobilization would be the focal point as targets would not be claimed within seconds as they are now. Guilds would have the chance to kill targets without being forced to stay online 24 hours a day, allowing the best team to win. 2. Bringing back Kill stealing groups. Organization and mobilization being the focal point. Organizing a KS group or multiple KS groups is not an easy feat, let alone keeping them alive. This would allow targets to be "unclaimed" longer than the FTE rules currently in place permit, and allow for a more strategic version of Everquest. A good example of this is any target in Veeshan's Peak or any highly contested world target such as Venril Sathir. When a target is in window 30 players are standing at the zone in ready to be the first to throw a javelin or be COTH'D. This is not limited to just Tier-C either. KS groups would nullify the need for excessive poopsocking or stalling tactics (ie. Severilous, Talendor, CoTHing MT/Cleric to Venril Sathir, and other stalling wars for example), and focus more on ability, organization, and strategic awareness. Not just neckbeards. 4. How many guilds could actually compete for FTE even against an alt crew of a neckbeard guild parked at fear portal waiting on dracoliche? KS groups would force guilds to use mains or park best DPS characters at particular zones for desired targets. Don't want to leave VP with your best char? Multiple mobs in window? You now have a choice to make. The way it currently stands, all top guilds have alts parked at every target. Does yours? This won't change come Velious. You do the math. 5.
