Well, here's my take on it.

I leveled a Shaman to 15 on blue, and it was fun and all, but it was your standard run of the mill eq experience.

Now, on red, I have a lvl 4 Iksar Necro. There's serverwide OOC, so people are always talking amongst each other, and you can see all the action when someone gets PKd, the entire server knows about it and cracks jokes, etc.

The community feels better on red...I see people login and you hear them say 'hello, red99' and you will hear other individuals chime 'hey man, how's the wife' etc- it's a very friendly environment. Sure, you will get your ass handed to you eventually but that excitement that the chance of being PK'd by another human being makes the monotonous everquest tasks much more interesting.

I'm sure if I was already involved in a guild of some sort, and spent years building characters on blue, I would be more inclined to forget about red entirely...but clearly it is the more interesting, more fun choice for me, for several reasons.

I am not the kind of guy who can spend 3-4 hours a day playing eq. Maybe 1.5, 2 hours tops on average, some nights, not at all. and some nights, maybe once a week, I can eek in a 3 or 4 hour night, maybe a 5 hour night. That's it.

red's where I'm going to stay.
Good choice sir. Welcome to Red. We have the best koolaid
