Best melee solo class (without a fungi)

I figured this would be the best place to ask this question.

Without the use of a Fungi Tunic, but the PP to twink fairly well, which melee class is the best class at soloing from 1-60.

Will I want to group occasionally, absolutely. I just don't want to play a class where I make/charm a pet send it in to attack while I sit down, and repeat that over and over.

Oh, and this character will not be made until Velious comes out and my main is 60. So think of the future content/gear/exp penalty changes.
