You can kite all the way to 60 wearing nothing but a horn and a drum.

If you ever do plan on grouping, focus on hp/sta/ac gear. CHA has little impact on charm/mez/lull because it is mostly your level vs the mobs level + mob MR. Ignore Mystic Koada'dal gear because it has zero hp/sta
