You're not an Erudite Rapper, and it's too many rhymes. I highly doubt you ever say words like yo bro woke yokel yodel cudgel or even yogurt in real life, so it just came across as abrasive to read, rendering your use of Woke very Unlit

I will admit something very personal here, just for you Skarlorn!
I talk extremely lazy, with a somewhat southern accent and I am not from the south which is really peculiar to say the least. As a child I grew up in a concrete urban sprawl, this is where I picked up my speaking pattern. My writing doesn't match my speaking style, not one bit.
I also admit it's rare for me to actually use the word YO, I always found it funny sounding and reminding of Sylvester Stallone as Rocky in the movies. I do say the word YOGURT quite frequently as it's been a main staple of my diet for years now.
I also admit, I never use the word WOKE. I guess that would explain the awkwardness in my post of stringing YO, WOKE and BRO together in one sentence.
smh. I just need to stay in my lane.
