Lifting as a lifestyle you do it for yourself, not to be attractive or get laid. My long term GF likes my muscles, but she likes my beard a whole lot more. I lift for me. Keeps me out of the bars, too.

Once I hit 40, recovering from injuries was noticeably harder, MORE injuries occurred when I carelessly exercised, and losing extra weight became way harder as my metabolism REALLY slowed.
