As soon as the ogre is a level physically higher than you he will also get a bigger piece of the pie until you hit the equivalent level. This will also explain the extra run-away xp phenomenon.

As a shaman you can close this gap by soloing a few mobs on the side - a luxury the warrior class doesn’t have unless massively twinked.

Kill a few before you guys start and after you finish - it’ll help you keep up.
