Stories like this make me mad I didn't have the foresight to log in for 20 mins and move money into beads -- I assumed I'd never log back into EQ again =)

That said, I still have a hard time understanding why these things sell for nearly as much as a manastone.

Never been rich in this game. At one point I managed to win 2 hiero cloaks in 2 days in seb crypt, back when they were worth about 60k. I used one and I gave the second one to a friend. I did also buy an account at one point that I planned to level as an alt then flip -- then account selling got banned. Now I have a random 35 warrior account forever that I will never actually do anything with.
