Necro/Mage combo

So ive started a mage and now mostly duo with a necromancer, and it's pretty awesome! We are both currently level 10. Does anyone have some insightful information or strategies used for Necro mage? Right Now we just pet stuff down, but I imagine in the future there will a better way to go about grinding. Where should we go from 10 on?
