Is the EXP formula on the wiki accurate?

Hey,

This morning I was playing on a level 5 character. I grouped up with a level 8 character and at that point stopped getting experience. Decided to look up the formula on the wiki and came across this:

Lowest Level * 1.5 (Round down) or Highest Level * 0.667 (Round up) and always at least 5 levels.

If you go by the formula Lowest Level * 1.5 then it makes sense that I wasn't getting experience, as that means that a level 5 character can only group with a maximum level 7 character. But the wiki also says "at least 5 levels" which doesn't really explain it.

Is the wiki accurate or is there some other reason I wouldn't have been getting experience?
