Miscellaneous: Levitating corpse

So im on the green server. In the woodelf capital.
Seaching for Regren.
Notice that the Emeral Warriors lodge (where he is) is 1 floor below my floor.
Decide to jump onto the roof of the loge so i could get down on the floor below.
My character (also named Xolon) dies and I corpse run from felwithe to find my corpse floating right above the emerald warriors lodge. He's too far away for me to loot. I'm in a pickle.

How do you GMs usually resolve these kinds of things?
Between 7pm and 5 am EST you cant get a hold of me even though i'm willing to set up a date where i log on and 'help you help me' if that makes any sense.
