BIDDING CLOSES TONIGHT -- GET YOUR BIDS IN
This is my last post until I close auction later tonight. Due to computer clock differences and the fact some people may want to post a last-second +1k bid to win (thanks Polixa, I knew this was a possibility) I want to give people a chance to respond. For any item 100k+, 1k isn't a lot of money. Posting a 100k bid at 11:59:32 then someone posting a 101k bid at 11:59:45 feels bad. Especially since the 100k-bidder has to wait 30 seconds to post on forums and will be past the deadline. So, I'll give +5 minutes on any final bid that comes in at the 5 minutes (11:55 or later.) This gives people a chance to respond to those trying to post a last-minute bid. For example... Code:
Let's say at 11:59 John bids 134k. Zwieback, Jwaltz, and anyone else have a chance to post a bid until 12:04. If no one bids by then, John takes it. If Jwaltz responds with 135k at 12:03, then the bidding stays open until 12:08. etc. If anyone does a last-minute bid, there will be a 5-minute grace period for others to respond. After 5 minutes of no bids the auction closes. Because of this, I will be up and online at 11:59PM tonight to watch bidding and be ready to announce that bidding is over.
