Equipment Made NO DROP Without Warning
Official_EverQuest_Forums [ 12:16 PM EDT ] - Ogamok
I found this here on the Official Everquest Forums
As of this patch 99% of Veeshan's Peak loot became NO DROP. I have no problem with the change, even though I think the idea of NO DROP is a lame shortcut for shortcomings of the game, but I digress, anyhow, the items in question were ALL made NO DROP without ANY warning. Items we had in storage can no longer be given to their proper owners.
This isn't good business, plain and simple. Give people a warning at least a patch in advance when you make such a large scale change to item structure.
Erm. Sorry about that. Those changes weren't supposed to go in until next week, at which time we would have given some warning.

He then followed up with:
Well abashi you wanna complete your post? what are you gonna do about it?
Still looking into that. We won't be changing the items back, so that would pretty much leave establishing a trade window in which the two servers that have visited Veeshan's would have an opportunity to trade the items with the assistance of a GM. However, that would run afoul of our policy for not getting involved in nodrop item issues. So now the problem at hand is seeing what exception, if any, we can make.

The patch in question was either the August 23rd or August 24th patches.
Now, it should be noted that this happened BEFORE things like the BotBDE got moved from Sebilis to VP. What was made NODROP were the items that existed in VP before this change:

Veehshan's Peak and Sebilis have received loot adjustments in order to address disparities in risk and reward. For the most part, the quality of the "common" loot in Veeshan's Peak is at least as good as the "rares" from Sebilis.

There have been some previous threads on this, with items from VP that had FoH emblems on them that were not NO DROP. This explains the how, when, and why:
