Your mind is playing tricks on you! I didn't say "every single thing every person has been doing for the past 50,000 years is correct". Obviously, that would be dumb and progress is clearly possible. However, the burden of proof should obviously fall on the people proposing the new ideas to prove they are making things better, not worse. It's so self-evident I barely even know what else to say there. I would quote Chesterton's Fence but this concept is even more basic.
