Wow for someone who I normally often agreed with it sucks to have to go out with a take that is completely wrong in every conceivable way
I dunno what forum you used to surf, but for YEARS here there has been back and forth, sometimes extreme, political arguments. And then the mods got sick of it and now the only way to have a political discussion is to dance around certain hot-button topics, like “this isn’t about Trump, it’s about Elon” because people know the mods will often put up with discussion about Elon but not about Trump. Picture warm as opposed to hot
Also, I know of two at least lefties here and multiple righties and I would not categorize any of them as extreme fringe beliefs. Just the fact they are tolerating reading opposing opinions and not putting everyone with opposite beliefs on ignore etc and trying to create an echo chamber tends to make them more middle-ground in my opinion. I’ve always been of the opinion that the fringes on each side are about restricting rights, but for different and sometimes opposite reasons. And that’s not the case with the opinions expressed here
So anyway, at work and that’s as far as I have time to break down. But yea, this entire goodbye is straight wrong. The forum used to be 10x more political and especially fringe political before than it is now. And it was that way for years and years as far back as 2015 or whenever when I started reading it
