The way I learned what need before greed means is that need rolls apply for who is online and logged in to a specific character. You can't roll for need on an alt as a rule. If the group agrees on exceptions that's a special case but in my view no one needed the Druid spell in OP and it should have properly gone to a greed roll for everyone present. Shit happens

What other meaning could "need" have? Otherwise I could just roll a level 1 shaman and now I 'need' all those expensive spells too.
