I'd suggest everyone just be patient. Find something else to do, try back in a few minutes. If it takes longer, then it takes longer. The more people try to hurry up the devs the more stress it puts on them and unnecessarily so.
Meanwhile, find something productive to do, time passes quicker than you'd think. No one here should blame the devs. It's impossible to please everyone when it comes to a mass population, and all it takes is that one person to try to cause havoc. It took one group of people to bomb a building in Oklahoma City. It took one group to cause the killings in Waco. Although you can't compare the magnitude, there's no doubt that the intentions are similar, to gain a reputation. I've seen people whose sole purpose is to cause harm for others, and using the dev's tactics was just an excuse.
But back to the main topic. It's a game and we should play it as it's available. Just find something else and come back when things goes through. When the new hardware comes in and mitigates some of the attacks or have something set in place to block mass packets of attacks, then it should be better. If not, we have a community large enough to get something together to find something more appropriate.
Do realize that it takes an extremely crazy amount of resources to push a DDoS attack. If someone gets pleasure in using his or her resources with the purpose to destroy a free online community, then we should just feel sorry for the person, and forget the hatred. It's not even worth it.
