I don't know, because when there was a high population I managed to enjoy leveling up and defending my xp spots rather than having my chin wiped? For some people gear is gear, whether its handed to them or not.

To others, gear is an accomplishment of their own efforts and is enjoyed from that perspective.

Not everyone wants to play Barbies with EverQuest pixels.
