Necro epic is by far the crappiest quest. Eye of Inny, Slime Blood of CT, Cloak from KoS... So terrible. I guess 2/3 are tradeable but it included way too much boss loot that was useful for other things IMO.
I tried to complete my epic a few years ago on live just to say I did it.

Golems in fear are perma-camped because of AoN and people were still selling slime bloods for ridiculous amounts of plat.

Ended up doing the 1.5 pre-qualification and got my 2.0 in less than a week. This was just before the underfoot expansion landed.

Hybrids get buffed a lot: Class penalties removed, new spells added, old spells buffed and casting times reduced for some. Higher defense and offense skill caps for some. Gear itemized better for them. Int/wis gives better returns also I think.

What about specifically for monks and necros? Those are the two classes I play at the moment (lvl 14 and 12 respectively).

When Velious EVER comes out the Forums will be full of people pissing and moaning about how hard the mobs hit and hard they are to kill. That is what is going to change. Re-roll a Cleric. It will be rez hell.

I really don't care how good that mask is, I refuse to touch that god damn turtle again. There's enough shaman and enchanters on the server that I doubt I'll be left wanting for 20% haste.
