Fortunately for the people still playing and the staff, probably only like 5 people on the server have that much money, so they are easy to keep tabs on! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
I don't know if I really buy that. While what he did may not be "scum of the earth," that money has to come from somewhere. He was in a position where RMTing for him had very little (if any) consequence. I'm sure he knew the risk that the other people were taking was much higher, and that these people were likely to get caught. I am not defending people who bought RMTed goods, but essentially he profited off of their loss, knowing that these people would never know who he was IRL and he would face no RL consequences. I hope he at least donated a portion of the proceeds to the server project.

The RMT was selfish, but no more selfish than 98% of P99ers would have been if they were in his shoes. If more than a handful of you could say, honestly, "Well, I'm 110% fed up with p99 and I intend to quit... and instead of making several thousand dollars by RMTing my vast ingame riches, I'm just going to quit/give away stuff/whatever" ... I'd be shocked

Not everyone is a lonely sperglord who attributes real happiness to pixels

I still can't believe people here would give up thousands of real life dollars when quitting because 'i love the community and RMT is evil and I would never do a thing like that because i have morals!!!'

I'm sorry, but there is literally ZERO downside(that actually matter to a person quitting) to RMT'ing away your great wealth when you quit playing on this server. I mean, there is nothing outside of these forums and outside of the game that can possibly happen to you. Heck, I'd go as far as saying that you are an IDIOT if you quit on this server with millions in plat and don't try to cash out.

It's such a farce and anybody who believes these people who 'wouldn't take thousands of dollars when quitting' are fucking delusional.

Who knows what people would/would not do in a situation that has not happened to them. Maybe you're right, maybe I would do the exact same thing. I don't think I would but hey who knows. But, is it true or is it false that you made between $10,000 and $20,000 of other peoples money who now have nothing to show for it?

Thanks for the many years of fun. Also for the record during the years I played, I graduated from university and got into law school. EQ did not ruin my life!
Haha don't worry, you've ruined your life, you just don't know it yet.

I would have done the same thing Nord. You invested a lot of time and you are trying to recoup some of it. This is no different then selling an old trophy at a garage sale.

Good Luck
