Here's how things went down. Azrael was basically in shambles when I left Nihilum being nothing more at the time than a Drusella / Crypt farming guild. Lite offered to let me into the guild but I declined because I didn't think the philosophy of the guild would allow it to truly grow long term, despite liking a few of the individuals in the guild. I made Red Dawn, recruited as many people as I could during the EQ Mac phase, set weekly raids etc. This is when Lite approached about coming to raids etc., which I was initially hesitant about given he hijacked Red Dawn 1.0 and all of my work, and the Force saga etc.
We had the Trakanon fiasco, where Lite "invited' Red Dawn to Trakanon but loot would be done by him, which I saw as a good opportunity to get some pixel love from the Duke as it became clear at that time that working with Lite would be same old same old.
One day, I was out at work late, and apparently there was PVP over Nagafen and Lite had some RD with him, and ultimately we ended up winning the fight against Nihilum. We essentially became allied at that time, despite many RD members not wanting to do so, and I created the joint DKP system etc. This immediately resulted in tears from people like Ragingclues who thought it was unfair that DKP would be given out for weekly planar clears, sky clears, etc., because he didn't need those types of things. Bamzal and others spoke out similarly. We tried to do Sky together and ran into this loot drama when our SK Grimzal won a roll for a Sky belt over Bamzal.
I tried my best to hold everything together but many people in Azrael were interested only in attending raids that would benefit them. You had Chipp coming to raids for his alts to get loot then logging on pvp toons to kill Red Dawn members a hour later. Same with Sickpuppy crew. It was pretty dumb. My members were sick of it, so I let it be known the only way the arrangement could work was as a merge, which Lite agreed to with no qualms nor a single comment to me against it.
We became, supposedly, one guild, Red Dawn, united around the message. Most Azrael people never showed up to anything, never helped, and never contributed, with the exception of a few which I won't name for fear of leaving out someone who was truly helpful.
Unfortunately, repops were @ 5am est, people who took the tag from AZ continued to do shit like PVP RD members on their alts, and Azrael core members just never logged on to help for planar clears, to defend exp groups despite claiming to love PVP, etc. When we did 5am faydedar's it was literally only RD members.
Despite this, and despite many RD members being a bit frustrated, I tried to hold things together. Finally, the GM's threw us a bone, with simulated repops. I logged on excited to see the entire Azrael guild had disbanded from RD, with no tells or messages from Lite before hand, and that they were going to go it on their own now, but we were welcome to raid together. I viewed this as completely untenable. What good is a DKP system if you're separate guilds, with separate raids, who can't agree on what's a raid and what's not, with separate teamspeaks and bind points, etc? I suggested we merge under perhaps a new tag then, be co-leaders, choose officers. This was rejected. I then offered to Powered & Deluxee that Lite actually be the leader and I would handle administrative things. This was rejected. I offered potentially merging under the Azrael tag. This was rejected because certain members <cough> Salem <cough> didn't want to "zerg". Every single suggestion as rejected, and Lite wouldn't even discuss it himself, it had to be through intermediaries.
Because of this, when Nizzar on his own accord offered us free mobs a day later on the sole condition to not raid with Azrael, it was pretty much a no brainer. Free loot from Nihilum, or continue to get strung along by Azrael.
In summary, your narrative is bullshit. Thanks.
