I am pretty new to tabletop gaming, although I've been exposed to it for most of my life. When I posted on D&D 5e forums & such about a homebrewed game like this, a few people suggested the EQ PnP game. They try to adapt much of the MMO to the PnP format and it doesn't work very well IMO.

On the other hand, I love the world of EQ - and I think that's a big reason why a lot of us play on P99 (even if it's infrequently.) Since D&D 5e has simplified so many of the rules for PnP (in a way that encourages both detailed play and broader "theater of the mind" play,) I think it's much easier to make a believable adaptation. I'm not experienced enough to create classes and all, but I am comfortable enough to make some minor adjustments to make it more believable and in line with what we mostly experience in classic EQ.

If anybody is seriously interested in getting something like this together on Roll20, please PM me! I can't say that I'd be able to DM regularly, but maybe twice a month for a few hours is a possibility. If you're willing to be flexible with rules (and/or teach me a thing or two) I'll gladly get the campaign together.
