So what is that post proving again? a work in progress system for an expansion that had not even been released yet and was probably going to be revised another 50 times let alone never be perfect. What does it have to do with anything about loot being destroyed? Part of it was to force new members and apps to take loot that were deemed huge enough upgrades so they could not horde DKP to spend on that one big NToV dragon item while in kunark rags.

Again, if you can't put two weeks into a guild before you get loot you don't deserve shit. Arguing that just makes you look dumb. You also have no idea the history behind that post and why that policy was made because you weren't in the guild and have no idea what you're talking about.

I never said Nihilum was good for the server, I just said the majority of what you posted was full of shit (which it is). Nihilum didn't care about other guilds/unguilded people but members were treated well and got whatever they wanted, even with shitty raid attendance.

And I really hope you're never put in the position to test any sort of hypothesis. Average population at a given time for the two weeks prior to Nihilum disbanding, the two weeks after Nihilum disbanding, and then every week up until now excluding the last week due to the blue shut down. My guess is you see a big spike after Nihilum was disbanded and slow growth since then. Holo is doing good things, but only a jackass would beat his chest in here and take all the credit.

We just have a different mentality than Nihilum, we don't think a new member has to prove they're worth. If an item drops and it's they're main and they need it they get it. Even if they're a day one member. We aren't mad if someone gears up and leaves, we look at it as they put they're time in and they earned those items.

Our guildleader doesn't expect the members to be grateful for attending raids and having a chance at loot. Gongshow thanks the members for attending raids. It's something you can't really quantify in pixels or gains, and someone who just wants to raid for selfish ends wouldn't get it.

If any of that changed in Holocaust if it one day did become Nihilum in ideology that would be the day I disband. I'm not like you I won't support something simply because it's good for me when it's bad for everyone else.

I'm going to do what I know is a pointless exercise and try to explain to you why that policy was put in place and hope there is some sort of rational portion of your brain that is still operational.

When Holo gets to 2+ years old and has members in it with literally 100x the DKP of new members then you can talk to me about what to do about alts. People like Thrilla had 50% RA for 2 years and saw an endless revolving door of new people come and go and were never able to take an item for a second character. He was literally BiS and there was no possible items he could take on his main for over an entire year, yet he kept attending raids to help people like me get gear. That policy was put in place to give someone like him an opportunity to occasionally take an item for an alt.

On top of that, all the dkp was basically going to get reset and a new DKP system put in place. In the old system, items didn't cost you dkp. It was basically tracking raid attendance. In the new one, items would cost between like 5-40 dkp. The most any person could have started with was around 100 dkp when Velious dropped, enough to buy a couple items.

So the dkp reduction combined with a dkp cost on item basically ensured nobody was burning DKP on an alt for many many months, even years. This policy you love to point to as a way for Nihilum to fuck over new members would have never even been used for probably over a year into the Velious timeline, and was done to protect long time members who continue to show up and help out these new members get loot in the first place. Velious raiding aint burning down VS with 60 bro.

As for deleting shit before giving it to an alt...2 weeks dude. Are you so fucking dense that you can't understand why you'd want someone to at least show up for 2 weeks and not be a complete asswipe and/or spy before handing them loot?

Your guild does things different because you haven't had the server on farm status for 2 years. This is why your comparisons are meaningless. If Colgate is BiS and can't take another item to upgrade his monk, and you go 1+ year straight with him showing up 50% of the time, you are gonna sit here and tell me you wouldn't let him take an item on his 2nd character ever? That sounds like a pretty shitty guild to be in.
