I almost wish they never made the show to be honest, I imagine Martin has devoted a fair amount of time towards it that otherwise would have gone into the books or novellas, and it's clearly being altered to appeal to the "can't be bothered to read books" crowd

I remember him in an interview talking about having disagreements with the producers over certain characters being "not likeable enough" and having to change them for the show

The scene is super easy to explain. Without Belwas there can be no locusts. On top of that, a poisoning wouldn't be obvious enough for the TV only crowd. Plus this solves the problem of getting a fuck ton of bodies in the arena for the dragon to fuck up.

whoa, we dont actually know whom poisoned the locusts, or what the actual motive was. just because belwas ate them in the book, that could have easily been swapped with poor writing (ie: daario tasting one of them and declaring it poison). as far as obvious enough for the tv crowd, maybe im spoiled as a reader, but do the tv only people really miss that much if its not spelled out to them?

Belwas was one of my favorite characters :/ i am disappoint

I don't even mind the greyjoy arc missing cause I thought it was more about moqorro (just my theory) and quentyn martell was kinda pointless. But damn belwas was a good character and even added some comedy. They really couldn't find some sumo wrestler to take the spot? I cringed when the Meereen duel happened and there was no liver and onions for the big guy.

Honestly, I think the horns will still be important in the books. If they're not at all, GRRM is a dick. It's more about there simply being too much lore / backstory to the novels to put everything in the show. Also, I think GoT is, in the interest of ratings, going to continue to make this a Jon snow/Lannister/Targaryen saga.... If they followed the actual book narrative, sad to say, they'd lose all of their fans, because a TV audience is a bit more fickle than the type of person that dutifully reads 5-6k pages of books.

TLDR: I don't think these change ups necessarily indicate book spoilers, although they could.
