It's actually not hackers. People are just creating characters or logging in, and sometimes getting boosted as if they bought a heroic character. I only know, since it happened to me.

Since it also appears it's affecting pre-existing characters, I don't know how they can't wipe it now.

i created a few characters to see if i could reproduce the bug. seemed to me that everyone was starting with Heroic gear (the gear you get if you pay to instantly boost a character to level 85)... all of which is not tradeable and has a level requirement, meaning it was totally unusable.

the possibility of people using casters to buff lowbies, though, is real. and my level 1 warrior that started with full heroic also had a Jungle Raptor Saddle, which boosted his hp to 336.

they're probably worried that Columbus Nova (Daybreak's parent company) will pull the plug on EQ now. lets hope they fix this shit and everyone keeps giving them money.

That's the best part. It's not even an exploit, it's part of their system they can't turn off for some reason.

i know not ALL the 50s are hackers, but a good deal of them know the bug and exploited it instantly. others got caught in the crossfire. has something to do with religions i believe
