The damage is all gayed and not classic. Spell dmg should hit the same on players as well as monsters. Currnetly, on p99, dmg is still limited where you can only do a max of 66% or 75% of the max hps in one hit. So, If you hit a guy with 100 max hps with Ice Comet, it wouild only do like 66 or 75 dmg. They only changed that after Manaburn/Lifeburn. They made you have to get them down a ways in hps before you could one-shot them.

I honestly don't know absolutely for sure how the dmg was for melee. I only played casters on Sullon Zek. I don't remember anyone mentioning about how the melee dmg was different from pvp to pve. I'm positive I would have heard some gripes/complaints if the spell dmg was the same, but melee was less. It almost seems like the nerf to spell dmg was bled into the melee dmg somehow. On p99 the melee dmg seems to be 2/3 to 3/4 of the dmg each hit it should be. Not sure how it was/is on live.
