I know that the original EQ game won't run on Mac, but I figured I would ask about this emulator. I have a newer Macbook pro with OSX.

If you have an Intel CPU (I would think so), you can run Bootcamp
which would probably be the best choice, or you could use emulation with Parallels, Crossover Mac, or Wine.
