Default Back after 6 years

Hi Everyone,
I decided to jump back on the p99 horse after 6 years off. I have a 36 Cleric named Cascade and 11 Shaman named Teacup.

Glad to be back, looking for a good group for leveling.

If you have the nerve, and this isn’t a challenge, the red server is quite fun. My main is 59 and I had very limited EQ experience dated from 2000. You can level. You can find groups, though to be honest that part can be a little scarce until mid 20s, except for a duo from time to time.
However, once you reach that point, the population is consistently present and generally helpful without carrying you to the point of removing the challenge which ultimately makes this game poignant.
I don’t disparage blue; some people simply loathe pvp, but I would say that if it doesn’t make you nauseous nor provoke palpations, it also heightens the payoff. Red has the same pve content, without the long lines which I think detract from immersion. Admittedly some of this is due to low population but some of it is also due to being able to assert your will and push other characters out with threat of death.
The server is not swarming with griefers. You do get some who would love to ruin your day, though in my run to 59, I’ve sincerely suffered maybe three encounters of this. Most simply quench a bloodlust and move on and certainly honor loot and scoot.
I’m in a guild of likeminded people who enjoy the pve and the richness that pvp provides as you feel more capable of defending yourself in a brutal cunning world, with each and every gain.
I challenge that much of what is not to like on blue is cured by red, provided you can handle the excitement of greater danger and purpose.
If anyone decides to join, look to Kajo or Andain or even the level 59 Angeleyes for a welcoming.

It was at this point I decided to no longer be kind to the casuals as they have extreme short term memory. They did this to themselves, unfortunately.

Default Your need to respond is silly

If you play, and aren’t simply trolling me, then you know your server could lose a few players and still have plenty to participate in pve perhaps with a shorter line on popular spawns. Thus I can only assume your position is based only from a desire to hurt me.

My goal is not to beg. I don’t care to undertake the amount of upkeep necessary to maintain a player who doesn’t want to be here. I’m simply pointing out that there is an under utilized server which I feel has been misjudged. I actually have no problem with the current population. There are enough but more is better until you have to join a waiting list.

Again, unless trepidation of pvp completely squelches all joy from your game, consider red. If it is too much to bear, absolutely blue is the only choice.

Desperate red player aside, welcome back!

I'd park the cleric in the popular zones for quick pick up groups (Highkeep Guards probably for your level). Once you hit 39 and get Complete Heal you can stay in City of Mist for a long time.

Can also check /who enchanter +/- 2 levels or so from you. Make friends with enchanters you have good duo experiences with and you'll get some amazing XP.

The shaman you can solo all the way, or do the /who thing for a monk.

Default Mother hens

Honestly you’re like a couple nervous hens coming at me. “Bok bok he’s different. Get him! “
Have fun either way, but know that fear guides the hearts of these two...Red is a viable and fun server even for this casual.

Last words are yours

I remember sitting in line, in line, in lower guk to get into the Ghoul group for a chance to roll on a FBSS. Waiting has been there since 2000.

A desire to hurt you? ..you're a red player.. what kind of limp wristed fellacio driven Player Killing you guys have going on over there?

Its just a tired thing "Try Red" to hear in the blue zone of the forums. You are not the first, you are not the last but you are the current one. The current one who can't even do it well.

E: Rallos, Cazic and Innoruuk frown on you this day.

Default Yet my post continues to get bumped to the top...

I have provoked your doing this so how poorly have I actually performed?

You sir are a fascist. I posted something respectfully and without malice. You inturn have immediately attempted to diminish me and belittle my choice of game.

Red is indeed a fun server, and the mudslinging of your sort ought not prevent others from being made aware. It is not the grief stricken abyss windbags and blowhards would make it to be. In fact it is virtually the same experience, without the over crowding tenement style camps.

We need more players on Red and I am truly baffled by the large disparancy of populations between the two vessels each of which provide the same content and gameplay.

I only say, if you are on the fence, and thus capable of enjoying a slightly more intense experience,, a result of the potentially though not consistently, predatory player, give Red a shot mang. Join those on the server who strive in PVE for love of the content as well as to increase our power for defending the peaceful.
