Don't think anyone said the staff are directly responsible for players health.

They do have access to data that would show how long someone has been online and if they 1. Did nothing and 2. promoted a system to reward players for staying online and engaged for 50+ hours at a time.. i think they risk being held negligent and possibly liable.

If negative press is directed at Everquest the game because of a p99 50+ hour /list camps... I assure you Daybreak will look at their options to make p99 look like a rogue entity and/or get it shut down...

Is it too much to ask that we don't build systems that reward people for staying in game for 40+ hours consecutively ?
It's not different than the old blue raid scene. Nice try with trying to sow hysteria and FUD to get your way.

Yeah "thrown out faster than..." still would mean it gets filed, likely gets publicity, and then has to wait to go to court to get "thrown out" in the first place. We all know it wouldn't win but that doesn't stop anyone in the litigious US. By the time P99 is cleared of any wrong doing, the damage to our little hobby game would already be done.
If someone died at their pc playing a video game and it wasn't a game that's popular or on some service that's known like twitch, YouTube or something with name recognition it won't even make one of those 8 pt font links on the bottom of CNN. if someone shot themselves on stream after losing a game of fortnite, sure. Some dude keels over malnourished playing an everquest emulator? 0 chance. There would be fuck all dmg to the community. Unless the mods want to shut it down on their own principals. Boeing has the deaths of hundreds on their hands last two years and still operates with public scrutiny. Nobody would give two fucks about a corner of the internet that literally 5k people are invested it, and that's being generous.

I disagree. When it happens in China it makes bigger news than the Hong Kong Protestors fighting for Democracy.

Our media (And especially for conservative media) has a hard on for blaming video game for violence and deaths for some reason and a story like this would make them happy to plaster it everywhere that a game caused a death.

And you are missing one huge piece of those stories. Money. Boeing has the money to bury any story and clog up whatever issues might arise from people dying. It's a billion dollar company. If someone dies and they sue (Disregarding if they could win or not) that would place a pretty large burden on the P99 crew both financially and mentally. Who knows if they would be able to afford to fight a case. Lots of smaller companies tend to settle to avoid lengthy court battles.

Did someone ask for an ez mode manastone? I don't think I have seen that. I have seen people point out the problem with the current system.

I myself, have suggesting allowing a sleep breaking after having camped for 24 hours, and I also suggested just removing it completely (Which is more non-existent mode lol). Or removing it from list entirely (Which I guess would make it a lot harder for some but also easier for others).

You are acting like these people aren't at the camp doing it right now. Almond was there. MJ from the other thread were there. These are people who are getting it the hard way. I am currently there myself on hour 14. I will be getting it myself.

If the method to get them is changed it won't benefit me at all. But seeing people stay up for 60 hours (and not get it lol) should clearly show there is a problem with the current system.

No one here is saying, "Lets make it so it only takes a few hours to get it". Or, "Lets make it so it only takes 20 hours to get it non-stop". We are just saying it shouldn't take over 30 hours for it to drop just once (Not total wait time but just wait time for a single drop). It shouldn't be forcing people to stay awake actively on their computer non-stop for over 60 hours.

There is just no middle ground with some people.. They just immediately think we are asking for Free or Easy Manastone... and instead when I am sitting here at the camp I am truly worried about some of my fellow p99 players that are in my group on hour 40+ but feel committed because they are #1... how far will they push themselves... its a sickening system...

The only thing sickening here is how bleak your life must be to actually endure this.

No one except you is forcing you to put yourself through this ordeal. I am certainly enjoying the show from here though. These manastone butthurt threads are far more glorious than I anticipated after they announced the /list system.

Shut it off, go outside. Embrace another human being. Stop and marvel at all the cool shit and convenience available to you in your first world country.

Or just you know, keep plugging away while crying the whole time and trying to blame anyone except yourself for being so pathetic.

You can't even use this item on Kunark or Velious, and only certain classes can make full use of it, so what's the big deal here

Honestly I think someone is going to get hurt. Would anyone on the list be interested in vlogging their manastone list/looting experience and uploading to YouTube?
