But hey - I'm entirely willing and eager to be proven wrong. It's just that in my experience across MMOs/FPS/RTS/whatever, PvP brings out far more pride than PvE....as crazy as that might sound to the vztz crowd.

PvP has more meaning to your pride than PvE because you're better than a person - not a programmed mechanic.

Who doesn't want to try out the new server though. And I am sure not everyone will suck. Also considering it is probably the last and best reincarnation of good EQ pvp. Sounds good to me!

i feel at the beginning many will enter r99, one of the main reasons i want to is because for 4 or so months itll just be classic, kunarks alright, but not many will stay, i dont mind you pvp guys, but most of you are overly annoying

interesting you said that aka, i am a big pvp fan, for instance i played conan, though the playerbase back in 08 was horrible, i was in a guild that ive guilded with since everquest, and when ever a new mmo came out and those in the guild wanted to play that mmo, we played it as a guild, but i usally group with everyone, but it came to a point when i couldnt stand having fun because of how many people were rude, and this was on a pvp server, yea i can take the spewing shit talk from these guys, but it just makes the community not so great or so fun to be apart of, i dont get this from all those r99 guys, but most are like this

EQ wasn't designed around PvP in the first place. I have nothing against starting the red99 server, but I won't be playing there.

EQ was not designed around pvp and the classes are grossly imbalanced for it. However, if you enjoy nonstop, grade school trash talk and ganking, go for it.

How can you say EQ was not designed for pvp? The camp system / sandbox world is the best pvp setting I have ever played. And I have played just about every pvp game there is.

On blue server, there are lines, poopsocking, people whine, I actually had the worst experience in EQ on the new blue Fippy Darkpaw server in the hugely crowded solB. If there was pvp on that server it would have been so much better. Instead SolB was a giant bitchfest of people complaining "i was here first" "I have been here for the past 2 days, my camp""Group A trained me and stole my spawn, reporting". The camp system damn near seems like it was designed with pvp in mind.

Just sayin you are missing out. Not to mention it sounds like a couple can't handle it. There really is only griefing if you are not good enough to avoid it.
