Nevermind, its not even worth arguing about.

Finawin will always be right in his mind so it is pointless.
In my mind, no.

In reality, yes.

This subject has been brought up countless times and it was beat down every time. There are at LEAST 5 threads on the matter and it was hashed out more times than can be counted.

The fact you can't understand this proves a lot. You want to waste hours on end in EC tunnel away from leveling, exploring, having fun...you do that. The rest of us non-retards will continue to play a game rather than waste our time. Similarly if you want to not see serverwide chat, shut them off and quit fucking crying.

I am all for more spam in /OOC. I think had /OOC not been there I would have made it to like 20 on this server before getting bored and logging off. It's about the only thing that makes being ungrouped tolerable. I don't really understand why people are so incredibly offended by people having conversations, regardless of the topic, in a game that is 100% designed around its community and social aspects. If you solo in EQ without talking or interacting with anyone I can only assume there is something wrong with you. MMOs aren't exactly challenging lol.

The problem with worldwide /ooc is that it makes the game essentially a big chat room. I honestly don't give that much of a shit about EC tunnel trading, but a lot of people do. What I really hate about it though is the chatroom aspect, as if the devs are saying "ehhhh ok, we know this world is really fuckin big so whatever, let's just let everyone talk to everyone else no matter where they are even though that doesn't really make sense". And yes, yes, before you start blathering I know /tell does the same thing, but that's only to one person, it doesn't send the tell to everyone on the entire server all at once.

The whole point of this server is recreating the experience, the immersion, all that good horseshit. Global /ooc puts a big dent in the immersion for me. And no, Finawin, you insufferable fucking drip, I'm not going to just "turn it off u reatrd!!" because I WANT to have /ooc in the zone I'm CURRENTLY IN, you know, like how it was in original everquest, you know, like, that thing that this server is trying to recreate? But no, let's continue to arbitrarily change things that are "annoying" cause that philosophy totally worked so well for Sony and didn't completely ruin the game and force us all to come here or anything!

Well, like I said I personally don't really give a shit about EC tunnel trading. I don't like it because it trivializes a big aspect of the game (communication with other players). Trivializing things that are deemed to be "annoying" or "hard" is what ruined the game in the first place, and is the reason 99% of us are playing here.

Also, rather than telling us all to "just turn it off" like you supporters love to do, how about: Remove it, and put in chat channels (which would be era accurate really), and then anyone who still wants to have a global "chat" can join the p1999 chat channel or whatever. Everybody wins!

You can't ignore the new post indicator just because some fucking moron wants to bring up a DEAD TOPIC because they're too retarded to use the forum search function that is on every forum.

If I could "ignore retarded posts" I would. Then none of us would be having this conversation because none of you would be able to make a new topic about the same shit 10 fucking times.
