Americans are actually the smartest people in human history

I won’t explain how, I’ll just remind you that you aren’t speaking German or waiting in a bread line

Rates of violence and poverty at all time lows

We are duped into believing we’re surrounded by violent, mindless, conspiratorial dumb asses. That’s how sensationalist media works. It’s actually the best time in our recorded history to be alive, and despite the best efforts of a few shitlords, that probably won’t change. All you can do is what your father told you. “Do your best.” That’s how dad did it. That’s how America does it

That you can't see the rampant idiocy around you in Texas in public illustrates the issue. Big blind spot. Our society is not engineered to produce the best except as a smallish enclave rife with nepotism and sheer idiocy a la Fauci.

Speaking of him, a case in point. Major public health expert, jocularly parrots sophomoric undergrad myth about masks not blocking ANY virus particles. Which was basically educational propaganda so docs and viral researchers don't think of themselves as invincible without the proper safety wear. The man singlehandedly builds the pandemic antimask movement's base of plausibility, costing tens of thousands of lives, because he wanted to quip from sophomore year to a journalist.

Literally a child in high technocratic office, who makes the greatest public health blunder in modern history. Never called out by either "side" definitively, no accountability at all, as nobody is science literate enough, not even the "high" writers you read, to even be in the ballpark of reality even after a year of educational runway. No, we're terrifyingly stupid and you would never hear what I am saying from one of the stupid people around you. It's a nice machine, but we surely don't deserve to be at the helm of this society. We are no where near the people who built it. The gains we enjoy, which you list, are theirs.

I think using one’s own limited perspective to determine what is idiocy is in of itself idiocy. I’m not the judge. I never will be

Fauci and the CDC didn’t want masks to run out at hospitals. We simply weren’t ready, it is sad that you can’t come back later as a public official and explain the reasoning behind outright lying about mask efficacy, due to how many people absolutely don’t trust any expert, but it doesn’t change anything. America has done an excellent job vaccinating compared to most and we aren’t top 10 in per capita covid deaths, despite extreme poor health and comorbidities

Obviously we could’ve done better, but I don’t think it’s obvious that we’re fucked due to our cultural decline, etc. from our perspective it seems that way, but I think every generation has always said that about succeeding generations

That was his career coverup. Or, possibly, an operational coverup which happened to save his career for the greater good. Watch the interview where he says the thing about the masks. Total off-the-cuff jocular energy.

It's a parroted line from the academy. I heard it too, at a very similar school. I am right. You are imagining intelligence into a blunder, post hoc.

Paper and cloth (like, what a shirt is made out of, DUH. there is not a shortage of face coverings in any universe.) mask supply was never threatened in a sense that energizing the anti-mask movement was a permissable move, regardless. It doesn't add up as operational calculus, while my view adds up.

The masks were invoked to "flatten the curve" so that we "don't overwhelm the emergency services industry", remember? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

I imagine nothing. This country has a much more solid foundation than you think. Give it a few more decades of experience and you’ll see. And yes, the mask supply chain was threatened in March 2020

Correct. I was pretty glued to the news at this time

You're wrong and you're rigidly swallowing an operational lie in a situation where operational lies are clearly called for. Anthony Fauci is a clown and the decision was murder even if I buy his foot in mouth story about supply chain. Just saying.

Which makes perfect sense. And now we are a world leader in vaccinations, we’re investigating the Chinese for how this started, and my index funds keep going up

Where is the end of the world darkness that you guys are talking about? God has blessed us all by making us fortunate enough to serve the modern Roman Empire
