Well, we do know that GRRM is writing the Iron Bank as some sort of an illuminati-like organization that can move the world when their loans aren't paid (illuminati-esque because of their power, not as in they don't exist/secretive/freemasonry etc). So given that context, I do think there's somethjg to be said for Baelish intentionally trying to draw the bank in. Do I have any evidence that it wasn't just robert being imprudent with money? Nope. But I think that part of it is plausible... We know that Littlefinger wants chaos. I just don't get what the hell Preston could possibly assume that Baelish is up to.

And you could be right. I'm just saying, in the context of ASOIAF, if one wanted to get the crown in trouble, pissing off the Iron Bank is a good strategy. I do think it's a stretch when he starts bringing up the Manderlys and others though. Baelish wouldn't want everyone in the kingdom to get PWNed

Martin stated he doesn't plan on releasing Winds of Winter in 2015 which sucks, and the wiki has some reading material for Winds of Winter if you're interested.

Well Spain is a special case during the high middle ages/early modern period (1500-1650). They pretty much tanked their own economy by bringing in such massive loads of silver/gold from the Americas. Plus they then suffered from a problem that many countries would later suffer from. This problem being the upkeep and defense of far away territory. In particular the Spanish Netherlands would literally tank both them and their Austrian family during the 30 years war. Perhaps even to the point that the German states would have been steam rollered early on.

Did I miss the discussion about the trailer?

Apparently the show has cut the Aegon/Jon Connington story from the show with zero casting and already having Tyrion heading to meet Dany.

I think this is a huge spoiler in two ways.

1. It means the show is going to diverge from the books in a big way.
OR
2. It means Aegon is a Fake Targ/Blackfyre lot a lot of people believe and actually won't be a driving force in the book.

trailer was interesting. Jaime in Dorne almost assures there will be no stone heart either. they could give her revenge plots to sansa maybe? who knows.

as far as Aegon, also had him pegged as a blackfyre or straight up fake, so not a big shocker there. just sucks cause now i know that any chapters with aegon are a waste of time.

the thing that pisses me off the most is the apparent cutting of Victarion and Euron. even moreso than Arianne Martell being cut, an i believe replaced with Oberyns whore from last season.

also saw Kevan and Lancel Lannister on the cast sheets, which means more changes, or they need to put Varys back in KL at some point

Sansa is totally going to take over the Coldheart role I think she is gonna start hanging traitors soon.

I don't think they are cutting my boy Euron because I subscribe to the theory that Daario is Euron and they are just trying to find a way to introduce it.
