You are doing the very thing of which you are accusing me - insisting that one meaning is more valid than another and should be implied. I did no such thing and merely pointed out the meaning of the word as it pertained to our guild's name. The word holocaust has been used in writing in this context both before and after the holocaust. There was no anti-Semitic or pro-genocide nonsense in the guild except for from a single person who was culled.

I'm not sure what you're going on about. Why do some people always assume the worst possible context despite plenty of evidence to the contrary? It couldn't be because of some internal malfunction, right?

To clarify:

Without context people will assume the word being used corresponds to it's primary USAGE not it's primary academic or dictionary definition. That is why referring to a guild as "holocaust" would make people think of the most common use (referring to genocide) rather than the cherry picked definition you are using.

Probably. But that doesn't really matter in this context. People were arguing that the guild meant the primary usage, which it did not. So those people misunderstood.

Since the usage of the word was meant to be the dictionary definition because they thought it made sense in the context of a PvP server, there was no issue with the name. They have clarified they meant the dictionary definition, so the people who were up in arms because of a misunderstanding on their part can now rest easy.
