To PBAE you either need an open zone, and have a bard kiter. Or a very linear zone, which you can bind in, to tag a mob and gate.

Chardok is great because of how linear it is. The mobs all run through the same path.

Pre-Chardok, in the 35-45 range, there aren't too many options. The old world 35-45 zones (Sol B, LGuk, Kedge) don't really have a linear path. LGuk sort of does if you aggro lord and pull it through to executioner maybe?

Kunark... Droga, we were messing around with AEing this the other day for faction. Were able to do 100~ mob pulls using 3 different people pulling. I could only see a group of 35-45 players pulling it off it you did a single 50~ mob pull using a necro puller with gate/FD, a cleric and 2 enchanters and 2 DPS.

Dalnir may be linear enough if you bind at entrance, tag a mob at kly and gate up. But that is likely too low of level.

Dreadlands/Burning Woods would probably work if you could get a bard to kite the zone then have a cleric heal them and zone it off (Skyfire strategy style). Would just have to ignore the wurms in BW and the drachnids in DL.
Chardok is great because it doesn't seem to have the aggro drop that it did on live. Actually the zones I tested in Kunark don't seem to have that.

This means you can train all of Chardok with pets / root while you couldn't on live. On the other hand it probably means you can't use aggro radius reducing spells on the King's guards, root one and single pull king to zone... which you could do in classic.

What should happen is King gets secondary aggro from the rooted guard, you pull king along out of range of the rooted guard. Rooted guard then loses chase on you but still retains aggro (if you go back towards chamber you'll pull the whole zone). King doesn't spread secondary aggro to mobs he passes by and arrives at zone line solo.

What does happen is King gets secondary aggro from rooted guard, you pull king along out of range of the rooted guard. Rooted guard then chases you when root breaks, spreading aggro to all mobs along path, king arrives at zone solo, followed by half of chardok and rooted guard.

Zones I tested were OT, can aggro something on one side, root it, run to the other with SoW, it'll break root and run all the way across to other side. Tried in LOIO too. Unintentionally, got aggroed low mana at windmill, ran to FV zone line with SoW, mob took a while but ran all the way to ZL which it shouldn't have done imo.

If you root something and run away, it's not going to drop aggro unless you FD/zone/die. That's always how it worked on live.

Same for attacking a mob with a pet from far away, it's called pet pulling and was used in many places.

I remember a long while back there was talk of doing Emerald Jungle. I don't know if it ever panned out or if there was some issue with it, but it seems like around the right level for what you'd be looking to do.

Nah its not how it worked on live. Pulling king to zoneline in Chardok was common and was almost always done by rooting a mob next to king after using calm on other mobs.

By the time root wore off you were out of pursuit range and the mob while still having aggro would not train the zone on you while you killed king.

Pet pulling from outside pursuit range was never a thing on live. Because mobs wouldn't persue you until you got back into pursuit range.

Quote:
You can pull the Chardok King to zone in as follows:

Pacify everything around the king. Do not pacify the king.

Aggro - via Root or Mez - one mob NEAR the king. You need it to stay put until you are out of its chase range, or this doesn't work.

The king will chain-aggro off that mob and will follow you. Getting him the rest of the way to the zone is trivial and left up to the puller.

NO MOB WILL ASSIST THE KING, because he was not directly aggroed, and aggro doesn't pass from an indirectly-aggroed mob to a non-aggro mob.

If you directly aggro the king, everything will assist him as he passes them. You need to indirectly aggro him.

Yea that's late 2003.

At some point in 2003 I believe it was, they added a chase range (which exists on live still). If you get a certain distance away from a mob, it will forget about you and memblur. That isn't classic though. Mobs should never drop aggro in classic unless you FD/zone/memblur.

Paw would not work. There is 3 areas you have to pull from in there. I used to PL peeps on live in there for free years ago. Crazy XP for some of the low end people with a whole zone pull under their belt. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
