The reason this service isn't needed is because anyone that has any type of wealth they need to transfer should have a friend they would trust in game over a stranger in the game.
It also adds an extra concern when someone is asking to be the person you trust with your items that you don't know. What's the difference between you and any other person running around in EC? I wouldn't want to make a bet that a random person would give me back all my stuff. There is a difference between being an untrusting person and being naive. People are going to question whether or not you are a scammer unless you are already well known. *Incoming derail Example: I use to play a game "The Realm Online," which was the first mmorpg. Trading was huge in this game but there was no trade window, someone had to hand first. People built up reputations for months on this game to be the middleman in trades. If someone in that game tried to tell everyone they wanted to be a middleman from the start for a big trade - they would be labeled a scammer. It just doesn't make sense. People would actually build up reputations to be middlemen until they could score a huge trade and keep everything.... its funny that the easier things get, like trade windows, huge aspects of games are lost that actually added a lot of drama/fun to the games. Trade windows - lose the ability to become an honest middle man Shared bank slots - lose the service you are trying to provide Easy porting everywhere - no more wizard/druids making plat from ports No Exp Loss from dieing - no cleric rez No corpse retrieval - no rogues getting corpses, necros summoning Instances - no competition People get gratification from helping people out and being useful - thats what all the convenience takes away from the community. | ||
