Naked/low level casters are pretty difficult to pvp with due to low mana pools, lack of spells. Don't get discouraged. Don't stress about PvP.

Most of the time is just easier to bind frequently and eat a gank than waste a gem slot. Most people are pretty cool and won't mess with you too much assuming you don't completely freak out upon getting killed.

General leveling path follows gfay>CB>Unrest>MM. If you're looking for groups up to the mid 30s that's where you'll find the majority of them. PKs will be pretty thick but just bank frequently and bind close, you'll out level them quickly.

Personally, I'd recommend waiting to join a guild until you've had a chance to feel out the situation as it's constantly in flux and there is no reason to burn potential group partners on your way to 60 because of a tag you derive very little benefit from.

Group with everyone, don't burn bridges and learn to pvp.
Look into <Fresh> if you are getting started and you'll see a lot of benefit from it!

I got a bind at Qeynos, woot! Im spending some time reading up on the pvp stuff, like will guards aggro if you are attacked from another player nearby. Some players con Indiff and others Threatingly, not sure whats that about yet

Thanks everyone for the responses
If my human wizard has better faction I can attack you and guards don't care, but if you fight back they will crush you. Bad times.

Joining <Fresh> is a good way to get killed by all of the people who like to kill people on the server. Though it's also a good way to get some help possibly... but mostly Fresh is getting to be as bad as Holo it seems and I'd just assume engage any of them.

I would enjoy blackburrow, grind, save gnoll fangs up all til lvl 15 or so then hand all in you've collected. maximizes xp from kills while you're there. From there you can make the trek to Neriak and do some great leveling and grouping in Najena and Solusek A

Fresh is alright, I see as the members level they are getting into politics of high end guilds, siding almost exclusively with one. While this does help with raids and etc, it also makes them a target for the opposing guild.
Your best bet is to join a smaller guild, or to simply make some pals along the way. be careful when LFG, never advertise your exact level in ooc. Give a range, ex: low 30s, high 20s, etc.

Yes lots of fungi twinks in Faydwer. The difference between elf lands and BB though is that while you are still working towards level 10-12 soloing in Qeynos Hills and outer/upper BB, you would be working your way through 20 in Unrest and heading over to find a pond group in MM.

For reference, I did 1-12 in just a couple of hours in gfay/cb. Then the next day I did 12-20 in about 3-4 hours in Unrest yard and later MR. Then the third session I did 20-29 in just a few hours at MM pond. Fourth session I did 29-34 in FM over maybe 2 hours.

If youre in love with the lowbie game definitely take your time and enjoy it. If you've done it already multiple times and rather enjoy 30+ content with decent sized mana pools and a fuller tool box I would highly encourage you to take advantage of groups and the group experience bonus.

Rushing to 30 with no gear or spell money doesn't help anyone... if you want to do that I suggest rolling a melee character... then you just need 1 single item to dps with, weapon. War/pal/sk are expected to be able to tank so more gear dependent, but rogue literally only needs a half decent weapon to speed grind from 1-40+ like that, and then can have epic in a weeks time or so easily making a few friends.

A lot of people mock it but honestly, rogue is probably one of the best starting classes ironically. You lose nothing leveling quickly, you need almost no equipment to pve up in levels, you get your best in slot weapon to continue pve domination with little to no effort, and then you are just looking at some minimal gearing for resists to be good *shrug* rogue not THAT gear dependent unless you want to be able to 1v1 a lot.

It only takes 1 fungi twink to wreck a group in rags. Force them to call LnS, then enforce it. If someone is enough of a dick this could continue for hours. At least in qeynos area, it's harder to travel to, so fungi twinks don't bother. Think about port locations. Freeport and Gfay have a ton in lower areas, while the closest to qeynos is west karana or north (Toxxulia if they ride the boat) fungi gankers spend upwards of 200-300kp on gear. 50p per port is nothing to them, they usually get ports from their high end buddies anyways. Gfay may be faster with groups, but qeynos is alot safer and easier in the end.

The people that kill everyone on the server do that to people regardless of their tag. The benefit of joining <Fresh> far outweighs the consequence of being on a list you are already on. Furthermore, what exactly does as bad as holo mean? Are we bad because we are successful in making friends and keeping our guild moving forward?

If you're trying to avoid pvp/people entirely then sure.

Despite pk twinks there is something to be said for leveling around them and learning how to deal with/be aware of them. Red is a different mind set from blue and learning to set up /who logs, keep see invis/buffs/health up and figuring out which spells are worthless and which are useful is as important as actually getting YT.

Group leveling will far outpace solo leveling despite PKs actively trying to wreck groups. Coincidentally, learning to deal with griefers is also an important part of Red99.

Finally, you should quickly out level PKs in just a session or two so although annoying they are almost a non-factor. It only takes a bag or two of looted bronze to equip a caster in their important spells per lvl and money only gets easier as you start killing mobs who drop gems etc.

I can't say this for *all* holo members, most are just brainwashed puppets controlled by a leader with the mentality of a child with too much mountain dew.
