Also I should say, random people have let me use their fungis to heal. I don't know anyone who would let me borrow one but, people really don't steal much in my experience at all.
lol you've gotten pretty lucky I think. I've had a few log off during transfer since I started. even the first month when I came back to EQ after 10+ years I was transferring in tunnel some plat I saved up from a wizard I made first (then decided to go warrior because I like grouping more) to my new warrior. The dude split and logged off I think it was only like 20 plat but shit that hurt.

Overall you're definitely right. I mean most people, if they are on their mains with guild tags on etc, won't ninja log on you during an xfer. but if they arent, shit its just too easy and those that do that stuff are out there.

Some would say its a core part of the experience. Having to *trust* others. Or risk losing what you've gathered. EverQuest was very much about interacting with other players. If you didn't do it, you're gonna have a bad time. Honestly - think about it. Start a new account, try a new class?
oh hell yeah I agree totally on the trusting and having to actually work to get a group together and have it entirely based on the community in order to get anything done. However, today in 2016 after getting so used to other easy stuff in different MMOs things like I got banned for are just too annoying. Giving more ammo to the little voice in my head saying stop playing this shit theres other new better games out there. I think this ban is a sign lol at least its giving me time to dl a new MMO. you suck devs.

I wouldnt be surprised if they're telnetting into peoples shit either. I swear to god when I was lvl 30 something I noticed my character moving and I wasnt doing it. Almost like someone had remoted into my machine. I wasn't imagining this it really happened its also very possible and in this emulator the GMs and admin of the EQ servers are doing this. Its not that hard to do when you give the db so much info to play the game.

For those untrusting of transfers just ask Dial a Port. We are always willing to do something for a few plat. Hell most will do transfers for free if they are sitting in the tunnel selling stuff.

As far as the other stuff in the age of the Internet all one needs is an IP address, email to find someone if you wanted to I doubt they are hacking people's computers in 17 yr old game.
