I believe the closest arrows are in Thurg for Velious.

I would recommend fear kiting Cougars starting around 33. There is also the option for the Tizmak warriors in great divide which provides easy access to Thurg for arrows.

The splitpaw gnolls are nice for money and exp; I wouldn't sell the scrolls though and instead go to Qeynos for the exp quest. Turning them in singles gives great exp if you don't mind auto-running to Qeynos once you gather 3-4 scrolls. I would usually do it at 3 scrolls to avoid getting too many repeated scrolls (lore) waiting for the 4th one to drop. I did bow kiting on the gnolls with my ranger as well as bow-rooting inside splitpaw if the spawns outside were camped. You can snag Quillmane/Coloth Meadowgreen in SK as well on tracking for some decent loot. It is also to keep down the place holder for Groi Gutblade if no one is camping him while doing splitpaw entrance. Arrows are easy to restock in this area as well.

Seems like Stonebrunt should fit the bill- I've mucked around a bit there and while there's plenty of mobs to track/kill, that GD zone is so huge. Anybody found a decent spot to hunt in Stonebrunt in your 30s, particularly animal types?

My guess is no, since pretty much every time I hunt there I'm literally the only one in the zone. Thought I'd ask though...

Stonebrunt is filled with animals. I was charm/fear kiting there with my Druid in my early 40s, but I’m sure at the mid-late 30s a Ranger won’t have too much trouble there. You’ll have to run north of the cat town to find the higher level mobs.

There are also some neat quests and unique drops within stonebrunt that can help pass the time.

Never been there, but if it's big and full of animals I'll have to give it a try

The major downside of Stonebrunt is the corpse run. You can't bind anywhere in Stonebrunt, nor can you bind anywhere in The Warrens, which means that if you die you have to run nekid through the whole dungeon just to get back.

As a Ranger with SoW and Camouflage that might not be a huge issue, since I can't remember whether The Warrens has any see invis mobs or not, but either way if Camo fades at any point during the run you could be looking at multiple deaths.

Probably not. Indoors so no sow or harmony. I’d stuck to outdoor places, preferably where you can reverse kite.

By 30 pretty much everything in Warrens is green and won't attack if camo drops. The couple of mobs that are LB at that point are easy to avoid and/or you can always stop and re-invis if it drops as long as you are semi-paying attention.

My issue with Stonebrunt in the 30s is I haven't really found a place with enough density of mobs, particularly animals. Since it's such a huge zone I found myself running around so much it became annoying.

It's a cool zone though, especially for a druid/ranger. Unique loot (cool looking weapons, bamboo armor etc.) with some decent quests you can try for. Way better opportunities for cash/drops than say OT in a similar level range. Also, no ruined pelts, so bring your spiderling silks and make some padding while you level up. Should've made that zone half the size and it'd be a great alternative to OT.

I did see this. I'm really trying to avoid cougars as the white on white on white is super hard on my eyes.
