Funny, I just posted something about Uthgaard on the Brell boards (in regards to the illegal P99 .dll file...yea, it's 100% illegal the way they did it), and now he's gone. Kinda sucks, Uthgaard actually had the balls to punish people.

Care to elaborate on how it was illegal? It seems like a pretty grey area to me. The .dll only calls the file paths of anything hooking eqgame.exe, to my understanding, and since someone running MQ or SEQ chooses to do so, is also choosing to hook the game process. Also, do you honestly believe that a case against Rogean and Co. would hold up in a court of law, given the circumstances? It's not like there was malicious intent nor any damage done to the users.

I'm genuinely curious, not trying to flame or anything.

There's other charges that could be brought up that involve big words that I am not sober enough to remember at the moment. They aren't supposed to put anything like that on the client-side, especially without fair warning before hand and updating the EULA to include it (though changing the EULA could be interpreted as them claiming the software to be their own work and, well, that just wouldn't fly).

No, I wasn't caught doing anything. I actually uninstalled EQ from my computer a day or 2 before the .dll was implemented. I'm 'up in arms' about it because it could be used for more than just interacting with eqgame.exe related files. Sure, right now all it's set to do is interact with those files, but anyone on the other end of it could change that at a moment's notice and no one would ever know.

Last time I checked, it was never an "our" server. Someone is kind enough to let you play on "their" server, for free. So wash the sand out of your vag, you entitled little cunt. Don't like it? Don't play.
