Did they ever have playoffs for Season 1? Is there a winner?

LoL is a sweet game but the ranked "season" turned me off because it was nothing more than starting your ELO over again-

Better to have something similar to the old CAL leagues, weekly matches, etc. But that's probably a nightmare to set up....................... ?

To answer your question...there were playoffs and season 1 just ended. Final game was between teams AaA and Fanatic, both European (our NA American teams did well, just not well enough). Fanatic was the season 1 champion.

And as for starting your ELO over again, they've never confirmed that it'll be the case. They still haven't declared what they plan to do, be it a fresh start or an average between your current ELO and the baseline ELO of 1200.

I'm horrible at the game but I play it for fun sometimes anyway. Got to level 30 but probably never going to bother with ranked, just don't care that much.

Been playing Ashe lately pretty successfully. Yeah, everyone plays Ashe, but she brings nice push and a great Ultimate to the table.
