I never unequip staff on my druid. Clicky nuke, even if it's outdoors only, is so incredibly useful. Never cared for the es vamps though. If I'm dotting something, it's being root rotted anyway, which means I'm medding, which means I may as well cast a stronger dot.

I'm still hoping this server will see Warden Symbol of Tunare implemented. That's the best druid clicky imo.

I have posted about that quest since 2009 when I came to this server [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

apparently we are still not in the proper timeline for it even though I have a pouch of red dust in my bank for the 3rd neck waiting for me to finish the 2nd neck

damn you lesserfay day/night cycles not working off the bat so we could have the necromancer spawn at the ruins!

I imagine that when/if it ever drops, there's going to be a long line of druids for that camp in LFay. My first character on this server was a wood elf Tunare druid, rolled specifically for that quest.

As a druid who's never really quadded before (I know), is the strategy to round up around 4 mobs with snare, run far enough away so that it takes them about 10 seconds to get to me, and cast? This sounds challenging but well worth it once I get it down...

yes if are quad-ing with this staff you need to run out of casting range and spam click your staff as the mobs slowly creep into range

soon as they hit in range the cast time is so long that the mobs will basically be within 1-2 seconds away from raping your face, so you need to make sure you start trying to cast when they are still out of range... IE you must begin casting at the max distance allowed

once you are good and practiced with the staff, you can time your escape much safer by literally starting to run fractions of a second before your staff hits however first time or two you do this will probably just interrupt your spell

but practice it and you will be quad-ing a lil safer with the lumi staff

Get a lumi staff and head to DL, screw BB that's for chumps. The whole point of lumi staff is non-stop quadding, almost entirely mana free. Trying to use it in BB defeats the purpose due to limited and frequently contested spawns.

DL = you never run out of mobs. By the time you kill 4 mobs, 20 more have spawned within easy reach.

BB = kill a few here, kill a few there, run across the zone to see that someone is now claiming half the spawns. Congrats, you just spent 5k to camp 3-4 dorfs that you could easily solo without the staff.

BB loot is better per kill, but false economy for the big picture. Bind yourself near hunting area in DL and insta-tell anyone who asks for evac to EJ. Make 300+ plat an hour doing evacs and level quickly 46-49, opposed to racing people to dwarf spawns for what, 100p an hour?

DL all the way.

Buy it and use it until 49-50 when you get new AE DD, then sell it. It's still slightly useful after that but I'd rather use that money to increase my mana pool so I can cast more 477 damage AEs.

I was excited about acquiring this staff before but now after reading this thread I'm literally drooling. 42 atm and climbing.
